Libia Castro and Ólafur Ólafsson, multidisciplinary artists since 1997. Their notable work, Your Country Doesn't Exist, questions national constructs, first shown in 2003 during the Iraq invasion, and continues to be presented globally in various formats, engaging audiences in a reflection on collective identity and participation. The artists are not saying countries do not exist; they do actually exist. However, by using 'your,' we are raising the issue of belonging, of being in control; who owns your country, who owns countries.
