In the city of Carrara, Italy, a man oversees laborers mining white marble from the mountainside. Yuri Ancarani's silent film is akin to a gift that awakens the senses. In the video, giant marble slabs are seen being hurled from various angles and perspectives. Some portray the grandeur of the excavation work, while others give the impression that these rock masses have been reduced by the machinery at work. The massive stones silently glide towards the ground as if sliding down the surface, adding an almost surreal feeling to the quarry. Overseeing everything, the representative orchestrates a symphony created by the quarrymen with swift movements and gestures.
